They were only announced as the secret band on the Electric Picnic bill last week.

But although not everyone was enamoured with the pop band being announced for the Stradbally event, it seems that The Script are taking their festival responsibilities pretty seriously.

The Dublin band, who sadly lost their founding member Mark Sheehan earlier this year, have just announced a warm-up gig at the comparatively tiny venue of The Academy this Friday.

Considering The Script are a band that have sold out stadiums in the past, it's a rare chance to see Danny O'Donoghue and co. in close quarters.

Tickets are on sale from usual outlets tomorrow (Wednesday August 30th) at 10am, and you can expect them to go fast.

If you do manage to bag one, take note that the doors of the venue open at 7pm and The Script hit the stage at 8.30pm.
