The O2 drew more music fans than Madison Square Garden in 2011. The Dublin venue was the fifth most attended music venue in the world last year and, during the last year, took in performances from musical luminaries such as Rihanna, Westlife, Kylie and Red Hot Chili Peppers to a total of 670,000 fans.

New York's Madison Square Garden, perhaps the most iconic concert venue in the world, clocked in 620,000 visitors for eighth place on the list. The O2 is London was the most visited venue on earth last year, with over 1.9million people attending concerts there in 2011.
