It hasn't even been six months since they released their last album, but it looks like work is well underway on The Killers' seventh record.
'Imploding the Mirage' was released in August 2020, after the Las Vegas band were forced to pull their world tour - including two dates at Dublin's Malahide Castle now rescheduled for this summer.
During an Instagram Live from their recording studio yesterday, drummer Ronnie Vanucci played a short excerpt from an unnamed track that he said was going on the band's next album. Frontman Brandon Flowers had previously told NME that the band were planning to release a new album in 2021.
"That’s all you want, that’s all you get," Vanucci said, after playing the woozy-sounding keyboards and drums song, with Flowers' vocals double-tracked for a harmony effect.
Later in the same video as he leaves the room, more of the same track can be heard. Guitarist Dave Keunig, who left the band on 'indefinite hiatus' in 2017, can also be seen in the studio.
The Killers are set to play Malahide Castle on June 15th and 16th.
