Speculation about the future of Girls Aloud has been rife for some time now. With Cheryl Cole's solo career booming, and Nadine Coyle living in LA and set to release her solo debut later this year, it's not hard to see why.

Earlier this week, Nicola Roberts admitted that Nadine had not been in contact with the rest of the band for a whopping seven months.
"If I'm really honest, we haven't spoken to Nadine since we did the Coldplay gig at Wembley in September. I talked to the other girls about it on Monday and no, none of us have heard from her. But there's no feud."

Now, producer Brian Higgins has said it will be a miracle if the girls continue together as Girls Aloud. Higgins, who is one of the girls' main songwriters, as well as part of the Xenomania team who have produced most of their work, told Ponystep, "If the band continues it will be a small miracle, but then, every album was for me anyway.

"That's why we put so much into it, because we couldn't believe that they'd come back to us. We never assumed they would, ever.

"I think that the body of work in terms of released songs is 110 or 120 songs now. It is very rare that anyone will do that again, that any group coming from any scene will release five or six albums, because careers just don't last that long."

Most likely this is all just guff to keep is talking about them while they're off on their one year hiatus, but we all know that once the solo projects start, it's the beginning of the end.
