After long circulating rumours of a reunion, news has now been made official that The Darkness have reformed with their original line up.
The news was first reported by The Sun last week, who revealed that brothers Justin and Dan Hawkins had finally resolved differences that split the band in 2006. However, the reunion was not confirmed until Justin gave an interview to BBC Newsbeat.
"It was frustrating for a long time to not be able to tell anybody because we've had to sort of keep it a secret. It was like a forbidden romance without the trail ... "The main thing for us is to make sure that musically we turn the experience into something positive again."
The band have confirmed that they will play Leicestershire's Download Festival, which will also see Def Leppard, System of a Down and Linkin Park play at Donington Park between June 10th and 12th this year.
