The Black Keys certainly aren't a band to rest on their laurels. The Akron, Ohion duo are presumably still basking in some sort of afterglow following the success of their most recent album El Camino, a record which spawned a couple of hit singles ('Lonely Boy' and 'Gold On The Ceiling'). However, there'll be no prolonged bout of inactivity for the group as they've confirmed that preparations for their next - and eighth - record are well under way.

Drummer Patrick Carney told CBS Local that it is "definitely gonna happen in 2013. It's just a matter of how long it takes us to make the album and deciding when we want to get back on the road."

Carney continued: " We’re going to start making a new album in January and we’re going to tour a little more in the spring. Our plan is the have the new album done by the end of spring or earlier, then hopefully take a few months off to do normal things like go to bed early and wake up early, walk the dog, that kind of stuff. Then we’ll probably be back on the road starting next fall."

The Black Keys played their biggest Irish gig to date in The O2 in August and, judging by this news, it won't be too long before they're on an Irish stage once again
