Last night's final (for now, at least) UK concert from The Wanted in Nottingham's Capital FM Arena was something of a sombre affair, by all accounts. Reports from the venue have stated that "girls were grabbing each other and sobbing before the five-piece even appeared on stage". Nottingham local Jay McGuiness furthered the misery by stating that this was possibly the last time he'd be on stage in the UK and, somewhat predictably, Twitter has been plastered with hormonal teenage girls reacting to this earth-shattering news.

LisaLoves_TW said on Twitter: "This is so painful. I thought I'd be 30 by the time this happened. I thought we'd have more time. I don't know what to do."

Meanwhile, JaytharinaTW was "just trying not to cry in public" which was a feat that proved too difficult for eleanorTW_ who was "crying herself to sleep tonight". By the end of night in Nottingham, both the band and the audience were in fits of tears.

The Wanted will now head Stateside for one last tour and, according to the Independent, their desire to crack the lucrative United States market could well be the decisive factor in the band's decision to call it a day.

The band participated in a reality TV show called The Wanted Life on US television and bandmember Siva Kaneswaran maintains that this could be what drove a wedge through the group.

"Do I regret doing it? Oh my God yes! Everyone showed their true colours in that show," he was quoted by The Mirror as saying. "That’s where the team element was shaken. It wasn’t the Wanted team anymore. Everyone was thinking of themselves. It doesn’t matter how close you are to someone, it’s amazing what people can do to get you agitated."

Siva particularly didn't like how his fianceé was portrayed on the show. "We got stereotyped as the boring couple, but we were staying up as late as everyone else every night. She was stitched up, big time, and I felt responsible. Afterwards, I was really upset. I never wanted anything out of it for myself. I was in it for the team, for the band."

The Wanted's Max George and Nathan Sykes have retained a relationship with Justin Bieber manager Scooter Braun, so don't expect this to be the last you'll hear from the Wanted alumni - there'll be more to come, whether you like it or not.
