Take That were honoured with the Silver Clef Award in London on Friday. This is the second time the Manchester Man Band have picked up the prestigious award, the first time in 1995, following 'Nobody Else', the last album before their split.

The Silver Clef Awards first began in 1976, and each year raise money for music therapy charity Nordoff-Robins. On winning the award, Gary Barlow made a generous donation of £50,000 on behalf of the band, from earnings from their current 'Circus' tour.

Meanwhile, Stereophonics took the gong for Best British Band, N-Dubz won the Digital Award, La Roux took home the award for Best Newcomer and Brian Wilson won the International Award. Madness were honoured with the Icon award, while Queen were named 'Ambassadors of Rock'
