Supergrass have left their label Parlophone, and plan to release all of their future albums on their own label, Supergrass Records.
The Britpop band have been with the EMI offshoot since 1994, but said that the company's change of ownership was one of the reasons they decided to go it alone.
They're the latest high-profile act to leave the label since Terra Firma took over, following in the footsteps of Radiohead, The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney.
Bassist Mick Quinn, who has now been appointed 'managing director', said: "We had a pretty good run with Parlophone when we were signed to them, but it's more a case that Parlophone has changed so much over the past year," he explained. A lot of people seem to have left the company that were there for a long time, that we respected.
"For whatever reason, we both came to the decision that it's probably better if we weren't signed to them any more."
