After numerous line up changes and recent rumours about their future, the only remaining original member of the Sugababes, Keisha Buchanan, has left the group.
Last week, rumours emerged that newest member Amelle Berrabah had quit the Sugababes after falling out with Buchanan, and that Eurovision singer Jade Ewen would take her place. Buchanan replied to this by saying "It's completely false, that's the honest to God truth. One hundred per cent."
Now, it seems that Ewen will become a full time member of the band, but replacing Buchanan herself, rather than Berrabah. Buchanan is set to begin a solo career with Sugababes label Island Records.
The group issued an official statement that reads, 'Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah will continue as the Sugababes and will be joined by new member Jade Ewen. They release their album Sweet 7 on November 23rd through Island Records.'
Now, Buchanan has claimed via Twitter that it was not her choice to leave the group, and that the split is the result of a 'lack of trust'.
' Although it was not my choice to leave, it's time to enter a new chapter in my life... I have nothing but positive things to say about the girls and I wish them the best of luck... I would like to state that there were no arguments, bullying or anything of the sort that lead to this. Sometimes a break down in communication and lack of trust can result in many different things.'
