State magazine have announced that they are to cease the publication of their magazine.

The music magazine was launched almost a year ago, and during its printed tenure, had the likes of R.E.M., Glasvegas, Kings of Leon, Abba and Interpol on its covers.

However, the team claimed that publishing the magazine became increasingly difficult due to the sickly Irish economy, stating: "State felt the cold, icy hands of the recession in the last two months. Advertising has become an increasingly difficult prospect for any industry which relies on it and the standards which we had set for ourselves were no longer achievable."

The State team's main focus is now on their online content, while they will continue to produce a digital issue on a monthly basis.
