RTÉ 2FM has announced the nominations for Song Of The Year at the 2021 RTÉ Choice Music Prize.

A combination of pop, rock and dance will face off for one of the biggest prizes in March 3rd, with a wide range of artists looking to claim the title won by Niall Horan last year who won for his single 'No Judgement'.

The nominations were announced on Tracy Clifford's program on RTÉ 2FM earlier this afternoon.

The shortlist is as follows:

  • Bobbi Arlo - 'Feel It'
  • Dermot Kennedy - 'Better Days'
  • Elaine Mai – 'No Forever' feat. MayKay
  • Inhaler - 'It Won't Always Be Like This'
  • Jack O’ Rourke – 'Sea Swimming'
  • Kynsy - 'Mr Nice Guy'
  • Picture This - 'Things are Different'
  • Shane Codd - 'Always on My Mind' feat. Charlotte Haining
  • Soda Blonde – 'Small Talk'
  • Soulé - 'Queenish'

International star Dermot Kennedy is in the running with his track 'Better Days', Dublin rockers Inhaler received a nomination for their single 'It Won't Always Be Like This' of the album of the same name, and Picture This are also in the running for 'Things Are Different.

Bobbi Arlo, Elaine Mai, Jack O'Rourke, Kynsy, Shane Codd, Soda Blonde and Soulé are among the artists also in the running for the prize which reflects the wide range of genres within popular Irish music.

Soda Blonde are in the running for Album Of The Year and Song Of The Year with 'Small Talk' nominated in both categories, while Elaine Mai is also in contention in both categories with her song 'No Forever' nominated for Song Of The Year to compliment her nomination in Album Of The Year.

Bobbi Arlo took to Twitter to express delight at her nomination, saying she was "super shocked to be nominated."

The awards will take place on March 3rd, and voters have until February 27th to cast their vote on the RTE website.

Nominees will take part in a live show in Vicar Street on March 3rd, with tickets still available on Ticktmaster.
