Icelandic post-rockers Sigur Ros are "on a break" after abandoning work on their 'nearly completed' sixth album.

Frontman Jonsi Birgisson told SpinnerMusic.co.uk, "We haven't got another album ready - It was just a rumour. We started to record something, but then we chucked it all away. So I think we are going to have to start it all again."

Jonsi also confirmed that the band are on an indefinite hiatus. "Yes we are on a break at the moment. Everybody in the band is having babies."

Well, he doesn't sound bitter at all. At least we have Jonsi's upcoming solo album 'Go' to look forward to on March 19th. You can listen to Jonsi play a selection of songs from the album in an acoustic performance on New York public radio station WNYC below.
