Iceland's Sigur Ros will open their European tour with a date at Dublin's O2 on 16th November next.

The band's new album Kveikur is set to drop on "17th/18th June" (a two-day release?) and is their first on XL Recordings and, according to reports, the band are cultivating a more aggressive, direct sound.

To mark the announcement today, the band have also released a new song 'Brennisteinn' to the web and you can check it out over at or on YouTube below.

Tickets for the Dublin show, their biggest Irish headline gig to date, will go on sale from Thursday 28th March at 9am priced at €40. be in with a chance of winning some tickets in our competition section!
