According to reports, Russian authorities are considering bringing in legislation that effectively 'bans' what they call the 'dangerous teen trend' of emo culture.
Conservative politicians in Russia believe that the 'negative ideology' that surrounds the culture encourages social withdrawal, suicide and depression in youngsters, according to The Moscow Times.
A document entitled 'Government Strategy In The Sphere of Spiritual And Ethical Education' has been drafted, and suggests the regulation of websites, as well as banning young people from dressing in an emo style in government buildings/schools.
Emos are described as being aged 12 to 16, with 'piercings, black fingernails, black belts, and long, black hair which may cover half the face'.
