He's annoyed a load of Russians and disgusted a load of mammies with his lewd story on the Graham Norton Show in recent days, but Robbie Williams is in the headlines for something positive today.

The LA-based pop star has just been announced as the recipient of the 'Icon' award at the BRITs next year.

Having already received a BRIT for Outstanding Contribution in 2010, he joins the likes of Elton John and David Bowie as an 'Icon' and will receive it the ceremony at London's O2 in February.

It'll be his 18th BRIT in total.

Head honcho Geoff Taylor said: "He is one of our greatest ambassadors and we are proud to recognise his exceptional talents with our highest accolade - A BRITs Icon Award. We look forward to celebrating his achievements with a spectacular show on ITV."
