It's kind of amazing how Rick Astley has managed to somehow embrace his one-hit wonder status and not have it be cringey in the slightest.
Maybe it's just because 'Never Gonna Give You Up' is a cracking song and, to be honest, have you written a pop melody that's still played nearly 30 years after it was released? No, you haven't - unless you're Rick Astley, in which case, good job.
Anyways, Astley and Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters somehow ended up at the Club NME night in London's Moth Club and began performing a couple of songs together. Astley was good enough to belt out 'Everlong', from Foo Fighters' seminal album, 'The Colour and the Shape'.
However, for 'Never Gonna Give You Up', Astley manned the drums while Grohl crooned the lyrics to the 1987 pop hit, with Astley ditching the drums and joining him for a chorus. To be fair to Astley, he's still got it and still sounds great.
Take a look.
