Well, here's an unlikely collaboration if ever there was one. Republic of Loose frontman Mik Pyro is set to perform with the RTE Concert Orchestra as part of the upcoming Inspirations gig in aid of Barretstown House, which takes place in Dublin's Olympia Theatre on Friday April 1st.

The annual charity fundraiser sees some of the best Irish, and often international, musicians take on songs by those that have inspired them. This year's line up will see Mik join Glen Hansard, The Stunning, Delorentos, Ryan Sheridan, Dirty Epics and O Emperor in taking on music by their heroes. Dublin singer songwriter Declan O'Rourke has also just been added to the bill.

It has been revealed that these acts will perform classic songs from the likes of David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and U2, so it'll be interesting to see what Mik gets up to with that orchestra!

Tickets to the Inspirations Gig in aid of Barretstown are priced at €30. Doors open at 7.30pm and all proceeds will be donated to Barretstown.
