The internet is awash with rumours of a new Blur album being in the works this morning with the news that former Blur collaborator William Orbit is to enter the studio with Damon Albarn this week. Orbit, a music producer, has worked with Blur in the past on 13, the last Blur album to feature Graham Coxon and wrote on his Twitter page about musician Fatoumata Diawara: "I just found out that she [Diawara] has done tracks with Damon A, who I'm in studio with from Wednesday!"

Further weight has given to these rumours when another Tweet was sent by Orbit to Coxon saying: "Hi Graham! Loving the guitars you laid down! Vocal session March 3!"

Blur have confirmed that they will perform at the Brit Awards next month, where they will receive the Outstanding Contribution To Music Award on February 21st.

Sounds promising, no?
