Speaking ahead of his European tour, which takes in a performance at Malahide Castle, Prince spoke to The Guardian about what keeps him going in the music business. He describes himself as a "loving tyrant". "I'm probably the hardest bandleader to work for, but I do it for love."
Prince claims to have had his band rehearse around 300 songs in advance of the European tour, from which he can choose at whim. "It make playing live more fun than it used to be", said Prince of the three hour show on non-stop music.
Prince plays Malahide Castle on 30th July.
