The music world was shocked yesterday when it was announced that Irish singer Dolores O'Riordan has passed away at the age of 46.

The Limerick native had been in London for a 'short recording session', according to her publicist, when it is believed she was found in her hotel, the Hilton Park Lane.

Now, the Met Police have confirmed to Metro that they are not treating her death as suspicious, although no further details have been released. A toxicology report is due in 'a number of weeks.'

Since the news broke, figures from the world of entertainment have been sending their condolences to her family and friends, as well as her bandmates Noel and Mike Hogan and Fergal Lawler. Those who have shared stories or tweeted include everyone from actors Guy Pearce, Luke Evans and Elijah Wood to musicians Hozier, The Script, Bryan Adams and Jared Followill from Kings of Leon.
