Pharrell Williams has said that he wants to produce the next Strokes record, having worked with lead singer Julian Casablancas on the recent Converse ad song.

Williams, who produced several tracks on the last Hives record, said: "I'm talking to him about their next record. I want it bad! I really wanna do it. I don't know (if Casablancas wants me), but I'd love to (produce the album)."

The Strokes
are due to record the follow-up to 2006's 'First Impressions of Earth' later this year, while guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. releases his second solo album 'Cómo Te Llama?' later this month. Williams's N*E*R*D have just released their third album, 'Seeing Sounds'.
