One Direction are rumoured to be performing at the closing ceremony of London 2012 Olympics on August 12th.
According to the Mirror the boyband have been sworn to secrecy, a source said 'It's all hush-hush and the boys have been sworn to secrecy'.'But they've been at rehearsals and can't wait to do their bit. It will be an unforgettable occasion and they feel privileged to be a part of it.'
If the rumours are to be true it is reported the X Factor 2010 contestants have been given their own moving island for a five minute cameo at the show. The band will perform 'What Makes You Beautiful' from a carnival-like flat-bed truck, moving around the athletics track at Stratford's Olympic Stadium.
The boyband add to a long list of rumoured artists to be performing on the night with The Spice Girls, Take that, The Who all said to be performing at the event. There was speculation last night that Kate Bush could be making a surprise comeback appearance too.
Confirmed acts for the night are Muse, Ed Sheeran, Madness and Pet Shop Boys and George Michael.
