One Direction went from being on a good teeny bopper roll to the type of enormous international success that can only come off the back of some flicky hairstyle and seriously catchy, swoon-worthy tunes. The name Harry Styles is emblazoned across the hearts-not to mention what else- of more 12-50 year old women than one could ever conceive of, and our own Niall Horan has gained a lot of favour across seas too, along fellow bandmates Zayne Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson. Therefore news that the upbeat boy band have won Best Live Act at the 2013 Silver Clef Awards should come as no surprise. They are, in short, winning everything they could possibly be entered in.

Coldplay, The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen were also in the running for the award at this year's music ceremony in central London. Disregarding the talented but affected nature of Coldplay, The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen were beaten by the past X-Factor contestants, which must put One Direction up to the '60s Beatles crazy fan frenzy level.

After winning with 25% of the votes, Harry Styles said 'thanks to everyone who voted for us to win the Nordoff Robbins Best Live Act 2013. We are over the moon.[...] Congratulations to Nordoff Robbins on another amazing Silver Clef Awards. What an incredible charity, helping people with music therapy.'

The 'Live Act' award is voted for by the public out of 30 shortlisted acts provided by Ticketmaster UK. Chairman of Ticketmaster Uk Chris Edmonds commented 'this will get fans even more excited for their huge Where We Are stadium tour taking place next year. Congratulations to the boys'.
