Former member of the Wu Tang Clan Ol' Dirty Bastard was, according to a newly released FBI report, "heavily involved" in "murder, car-jackings and the sale of drugs and illegal guns".

The rapper, who died of a drug overdose shortly before his 36th birthday in 2004, had his FBI file released and it shows a litany of arrests for offences that include resisting arrest, injuring a child, common assault, attempted murder of a police officer, refusing to pay child support and the illegal possession of body armour.

The file is 93 pages long (peruse it here) and links the rapper to two murders allegedly committed by the Bloods gang. It is also revealed that the rapper, real name Russell Tyrone Jones, was himself shot during a robbery in 1998.

The report continues to allege that Wu Tang Clan behaves in the manner of a criminal gang and that "once individuals have proved themselves as good and loyal members, they are offered record contract to record rap type music."
