Well, the rumours were true - The Stone Roses are reforming. Word leaked on Friday the 14th of October that a press conference was to take place at 3pm on Tuesday announcing some "significant" news and, low and behold, the original Stone Roses line-up took to the stage at London's Soho Hotel and detailed plans for two homecoming shows at Heaton Park, Manchester, in June 2012, from which they are rumoured to be pocketing an estimated £8.25 MILLION from gate receipts. Money talks, eh?

This will be the band's first appearance on stage together since August of 1996 when a disastrous Reading Festival performance lowered the curtain on their careers.

Ian Brown also hinted that the group have been working on new material, saying "We hope so. But we said that before didn't we?"

See below for a video (via the Telegraph) of the reunion announcement.
