Following Noel's abrupt departure, Liam Gallagher has been writing new material with the rest of his Oasis bandmates, but insists that Oasis are finished.

In a recent interview with an Italian radio station on Friday, Liam admitted that he, Colin Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock are 'doing things at the moment. Not Oasis. Oasis is done. Everyone except for Noel.'

Liam also suggested that the as yet unnamed new band would be ready to play their first gigs 'in a couple of months', but that he wasn't enthusiastic about playing smaller venues.

Speaking of the Oasis split, Liam said, 'To be quite honest, I think our kid wanted out. But you'll have to ask him when he comes in and does his little solo thing. We had an argument – but we've had bigger ones, about more important people. Basically, I think he wanted out, wanted something different, but he hadn’t got the bollocks to tell the band or the fans.'
