The Erics take place in The Button Factory on January 29th and will see four of the country's most exciting musical acts entertain the crowd on the night.

Over the last few days, we've grabbed a quick chat with Daithí, Le Galaxie and State Lights.

Today, it's the turn of headliners The Riptide Movement, who have just been nominated for the Choice Music Prize for their album 'Getting Through.'

"We're buzzing that we've been nominated!," frontman Mal Tuohy told us. "It’s hard to believe that 'Getting Through' is our third studio album, so I guess it’s a case of third time lucky for us. There's been some great Irish albums released in 2014, so it’s nice to be in such great company; for a small country, we produce a lot of great artists and great music!"

He also revealed that performing at The Erics held a special significance for the band. "Our first musical award was an Eric for the Best Irish Album in 2013, so it’s an honour to be asked back to perform at it in 2015," he said. "We can't wait!"

Don't forget that tickets for The Erics are available at a limited price now.

You're headlining The Erics at the end of this month after a huge year for TRM – what can we expect from your set?

It’s gonna be rockin', loads and loads of energy. Our fantastic choir 'The Riptidettes' will be there, and of course the infamous Stomptown Brass will be laying down the stomp!

You're also nominated for Best Album in The Erics - what do you reckon your chances are?

Who knows? We had the good fortune of winning it two years ago with our album Keep On Keepin' On!

For someone who's never heard TRM's music, describe it in three words.

Rockin' Folkin' Soul.

What was your favourite album/gig of last year?

Favourite albums - Foxygen '..and Star Power'.  Favourite gig - The National at Iveagh Gardens.

What was the best gig that you played in 2014?

Glastonbury in June, or Vicar St on December 6th.

In an ideal world, what should we put on your Erics rider?

Did you not get our rider? No Moet, no show...

What release/gig are you most looking forward to in 2015?

I'm a little bit biased, but I'm most looking forward to our album Getting Through being released worldwide in 2015 after being released for almost a year in Ireland. It’s very exciting times ahead. The future’s looking bright...

What can we expect of TRM in 2015 – more touring, or have you started writing for the next album yet?

Writing has begun for the new album, but 2015 is very much all about our current album 'Getting Through'. It’s gonna be really busy internationally; 'Getting Through' is getting its worldwide release, and the world tour to follow… bring it on!

What would most people be surprised to find out about TRM?

One of us still sleeps in a bunk bed… scholars maintain that groupies love bunk beds… have I said too much?
