How many times could you tolerate hearing 'Hot in Herre' on repeat?
Don't get us wrong, it's a decent song - but we'd draw the limit at 5, ourselves.
However, fans of rapper Nelly are going out of their way to stream his must repeatedly so that he'll earn royalties from it, basically because he owes $2 million in tax to the US government. Since the royalties from streaming are so miniscule, however, it's been estimated that he'll need approximately 287 million streams of the track to pay off his debt.
It's not just 'Hot in Herre' that they're playing, either - although considering his hits are limited to three songs, it's the most popular one.
The campaign has even spawned a '#SaveNelly' hashtag on Twitter, with people demonstrating just how far they'll go to help him out:
I turned on Hot in Herre on @AppleMusic and will leave it on repeat for the rest of the night. Join me #SaveNelly

Of course, he could have just, y'know, paid his taxes in the first place and he might not be in this mess... but that's just us. #payyourtaxesnelly
