R.E.M.'s first single from their upcoming 15th album 'Collapse Into Now' is to receive its first Irish radio play on Monday January 24th. The song, entitled 'UBerlin', will be played on Colm Hayes' 2FM show just after the midday news.

'UBerlin' was recorded at Berlin's famous Hansa Studios and will be released the same day as the album, Friday March 4th. R.E.M. once again worked with Irish producer Jacknife Lee, who also produced 2008's 'Accelerate', and the album will feature guest appearances from Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Peaches and Patti Smith for the record.

The band have already unveiled several of the album's songs with lyric videos on their website, www.remhq.com, the latest of which is 'Mine Smell Like Honey', which appeared for the first time on Tuesday.
