Fan of New Order? Fan of beer? Well, the good news is that you'll be able to combine both your passions when the Manchester band release their own beer later this month.

Bernard Sumner and co. have created a beer called 'Stray Dog' in conjunction with Moorhouse's Brewery of Burnley. 'Stray Dog' is a track from their most recent album, 'Music Complete'.

It's 4.2% and is "refreshing and clean tasting golden ale with hints of citrus fruit and lychee, all balanced by a subtle bitterness", according to a statement released by the band. The bad news for Irish New Order fans is that you might have to travel to taste it on tap. It'll be sold at certain UK pubs from later this month, before being rolled out nationally. However, it will be available in 500ml bottles for "supermarkets and export" purposes.

Of course, New Order are far from the first band to launch their own alcoholic beverage; everyone from Iron Maiden to Elbow have got in on the act.

Rumours that ex-New Order bassist Peter Hook is also launching his own range of bitter, however, are thus far unfounded.
