It seemed like half of Ireland fell in love with Animal Collective’s 2009 album Merriweather Post Pavilion so we’d expect a few heads to be turned this afternoon by the unveiling of new single ‘Today's Supernatural’, the first tune to be released from their upcoming album Centipede Hz.
The song, which you can listen to here, is available digitally tomorrow while the album arrives on 4 September. Founding Animal Collective member Deakin (or Josh Dibb to friends) recently said the new album will be a “pretty aggressive, relentless record” and ‘Today's Supernatural’ certainly backs him up there.
The organised chaos-feel of band’s best work is present in the tune so we’re hopeful the rest of Centipede Hz lives up to it.
