The story of Christopher Wallace aka The Notorious B.I.G. has been told in several films in the past - but a documentary that is arguably the definitive version is en route.

'Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell' was executive-produced by the late rapper's mother Violetta Wallace, and his best friend Sean 'Diddy' Combs. It tells the story of his early life growing up in Brooklyn and his rise to fame in the rap world in the 1990s.

Since his untimely death in 1997 at the age of 24, the rapper known as Biggie Smalls has been honoured in myriad ways; a corner of Clinton Hill, Brooklyn was renamed 'Christopher ‘Notorious B.I.G.’ Wallace Way' in 2019, while he was inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame last year.

He was killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in 1997, and no one has ever been charged with his murder.

His widow Faith Evans, Diddy and Lil Cease are among those who feature in the new Netflix documentary, which is set to premiere on the streaming service on March 1st.
