Neil Young is to be honoured by The MusiCares Foundation for his charity work. Young will receive the MusiCares Person Of The Year award at a ceremony in Los Angeles on January 29th, just two days before the Grammys.

Young co-founded Farm Aid, an annual benefit concert that raises money for family farmers, in 1985, while he has also been running the annual Bridge School Concerts with his wife Pegi, raising money for children with physical and speech impairments ever since 1986.

CEO the MusiCares Foundation  Neil Portnow said of Young, 'Neil has set a standard of artistic integrity and iconoclastic creativity for more than four decades, and his achievements have been matched by his unwavering humanitarianism.'
