Following news of his forthcoming Monsters of Folk collaboration with Conor Oberst and M. Ward, My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James is working on a new project – a tribute album to the late great George Harrison. James has taken on the name Yim Yames both for this tribute and for the Monsters of Folk project.
Entitled 'Tribute To', James recorded the six track EP alone, simply with an acoustic guitar, shortly after Harrison's death in 2001, but it has only seen the light recently. It is due for release on August 4th.
Harrison's people also recently released 'Let It Roll: Songs of George Harrison' featuring some of the Beatle's best loved tracks.
