Following the massive success of debut album 'Sigh No More' last year, Mumford and Sons are set to return to Ireland in 2011 for a four date tour.
Marcum Mumford and co. will play the following dates after a run of sold out shows in Scotland.
14th March - Cork, Savoy Theatre
15th March - Galway, Radisson
16th March - Limerick, Dolans
18th March - Dublin, Olympia
No doubt, these will sell out in record time too, when they go on sale this Wednesday February 23rd at 9am. Tickets for Cork, Galway and Limerick are priced €28, while tickets for the Dublin show, incidentally a special late night event, are priced from €27.
Fans who've been aching to hear some new Mumford songs will be delighted to hear the band will be road-testing new material on this tour. A statement on their website reads, "We're focusing on making another album this year so we've decided to do a tour where we can get up close with people and road test some new song ideas. We wrote the first album by trying to play new songs live as much as we could - it's a really helpful way to get to know a song, and to see if it has the legs that it needs to go on an album. It's hard to tell sometimes when you're in a small rehearsal room in Wandsworth.
"We also love touring Scotland and Ireland, going back to our Celtic routes, and wanted to take the chance to play some beautiful smaller towns that often get ignored on the more traditional touring routes. We figured that playing smaller shows would take us back to the beginning of our touring lives again."
