Mumford and Sons have teamed up with Idris Elba for the video for their forthcoming single 'Lover of the Light' .

The music video marks Elba's first time behind the cameras which he created and starred in. Shot around Pembrokeshire in Wales the video merges two separate ideas that the band and Elba had for the single.

Speaking about the collaboration Mumford and Sons said 'We are, quite obviously, huge fans of Idris Elba's acting work, as pretty much anyone can agree he's the most badass British actor since Richard Briers. So we trusted him as the director for our latest video.' The band added 'Talking to Idris and Dan about making a video that we're not in made it a lot more fun to think about. They went off and wrote the treatment after our ale-infused conversation in a pub in London, and what they directed, we are proud to present as: Lover Of The Light'.

The Wire and Luther star took to twitter to comment on his directorial debut saying 'I wrote & directed this video for @MumfordAndSons. Very proud amazing song'. 'Lover of the Light' is taken from the bands second album Babel and will be released on November 30th. Babel debuted at number 1 in Ireland, UK and the US and sold over 1 million copies globally since it's release in September.
