Among all the music and bespoke boutique treats that Electric Picnic offers its attendees, the MindField spoken word arena is often a highlight. MindField will offer three days (and sometimes nights!) of stimulating debate, poetry, lectures, public conversations and forums and lots more, encouraging all present to fill their brains with new thoughts, ideas and experiences.

The Leviathan Stage will feature its now traditional Political Cabaret, hosted by David McWilliams, with a panel including some of Ireland's most respected journalists discussing issues as diverse as the global economic crisis, the Libyan conflict and more. Ryan Tubridy and Miriam O'Callaghan will also be on hand for hosting duties.

Irish Times music journo Jim Carroll will host his popular Banter series, on how the Irish media failed Ireland, along with Carol Hunt, Simon Carswell, John Ryan and Enda Leahy.

The Science Gallery, Theatre Stage, The Word Stage and Puball Gaeilge and more will also feature over the course of the weekend.

Tickets for Electric Picnic are still available and are priced at €230 for the weekend and €99.50 for a Sunday day ticket.
