There are likely more than a few people nursing sore heads this Bank Holiday Monday after last night's culmination of the Meteor Camden Crawl Dublin. Over a hundred acts played across more than 15 venues in our capital city on Saturday and Sunday night, with some truly outstanding performances among them.

Entertainment.ie were playing host in Upstairs at Whelan's where DOGS, Croupier and The Casanova Wave played centre stage on Saturday night while Bouts, VerseChorusVerse, We Were Evergreen and the raucous Eagulls provided yesterday evening's entertainment.

Dublin's Bouts, who also played at entertainment.ie's 'Erics' awards ceremony in January, opened the night with a set primarily comprised of brand new material which will feature on their upcoming debut album which is due out later this year. Old favourites like 'We Tried' and 'Get Sick' did find their place in the set, as well as a now traditional guitar wigout from the guitarist Colin Boylan. We love this band.

Next up was Belfast man Tony Wright, who goes by the name VerseChorusVerse when standing on a stage. Wright is a hell of a performer - outstanding guitar skills, great stage presence and wonderful songwriting all rolled into one diminutive package. We are waiting with baited breath for the release of his debut solo album this summer.

Parisian trio We Were Evergreen's indie electro pop was one of the true highlights of the entire festival. Not unlike a French version of Vampire Weekend, their brand of delicate, intricate pop songs will surely make big waves when their debut album (noticing a trend here?) hits the shelves later this year.

Leeds' Eagulls ended the night's proceedings with a very loud exclamation mark, delivering one of the louder and more energetic sets we've seen in recent memory - complete with an onstage invasion from a rather hyped up attendee.
