The winner of the 2012 Mercury Music Prize will be announced tonight live on Channel 4 at 10pm. Currently Paddy Power have Alt-J are massive favourites to walk away with the gong for their incredible debut album An Awesome Wave, but they'll face competition from the likes of Richard Hawley (lots of money has gone down on him recently) and Plan B's Ill Manors.

Our money, though, is on Alt-J to bag the honours. Failing that, we wouldn't mind seeing Django Django's self-titled debut win. The same goes for Michael Kiwanuka's Home Again and Lianne La Havas' Is Your Love Big Enough?, but realistically those are nothing more than long shots.

We'll have news of the winner for you live on the site as soon as it's announced!

The nominees in full are:

Alt-J – An Awesome Wave
Ben Howard – Every Kingdom
Django Django – Django Django
Field Music – Plumb
Richard Hawley – Standing at the Sky's Edge
Michael Kiwanuka – Home Again
Lianne La Havas – Is Your Love Big Enough?
Sam Lee – Ground of its Own
