Meat Loaf has said that he plans to avoid 'stupid English festivals' for the duration of his career.

The singer played a festival in the UK years ago, with Jefferson Starship, but his festival experience obviously wasn't a happy one, as he was appalled by the crowd's behaviour.

Instead, the MOR rocker says that he'll be sticking to playing more historic venues when he visits the UK.

"We played with Jefferson at one of those stupid English festivals, and I do call them stupid because people behave like apes who haven't eaten a banana in a week," he said. "I refuse to play them. I prefer venues like Castle Howard. It feels more like everybody is going to take a bottle of wine and a roasted chicken and pull it off like Henry VIII: 'Give me that leg woman...' It is a more carnival-like atmosphere, and I do like carnivals."

Something tells me Mr. Loaf is in for a bit of a shock when he plays Bundoran Live next week..
