A new Taylor Swift album usually engenders a glut of speculation about who the songs are written about, and her new album 'The Tortured Poets Society' is no different.

While many of the song on the album appear to be unsurprisingly about Swift's 6-year-relationship with actor Joe Alwyn, there are also a couple of tracks that appear to take a more vitriolic slant.

One of them, 'The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived', is reportedly about Matty Healy of The 1975, with whom Swift had a brief fling in 2023.

Lyrics from the song include: "You hung me on your wall, stabbed me with your push-pins / In public showed me off, then sank in stoned oblivion" and "You tried to buy some pills from a friend of friends of mine / They just ghosted you, now you know what it feels like".

Healy has not publicly commented on the rumours, but his aunt Debbie Dedes spoke on his behalf, telling The Sun: "“Nothing surprises him anymore. He will not be surprised by the song. Him and her know what went on."

She also told another newspaper: "She writes about all her relationships, doesn’t she? I don’t think it will come as a shock to him at all. He’s very happy in his new relationship so I’m sure he will be focusing on that."

Swift's new album, which was released on Friday, is regarded as a break-up album by many, but one song 'The Alchemy' appears to be about her new partner, NFL star Travis Kelce. The song's lyrics include: "So when I touch down, sall the amateurs and cut 'em from the team" and "Where's the trophy? / He just comes running over to me" in apparent reference to his team's Super Bowl win.

Healy, unsurprisingly, has not commented on the matter himself.
