With the 25th anniversary of the history-making Live Aid this week (Tuesday just gone, actually), the buzz is growing around the BBC's upcoming TV movie about the event.
Entitled 'When Harvey Met Bob', the 90 minute drama focuses on music promoter Harvey Goldsmith, and of course Bob Geldof. Ian Hart (John Lennon in the 1994 film Backbeat) will take on the role of Goldsmith while Sir Bob will be played by noneother than our own Domhnall Gleeson (son of the always awesome Brendan, Bill Weasley in the upcoming final Harry Potter movie).
The film will follow the pair from Bob's initial inspiration at seeing wife Paula Yates weep at Michael Buerk's now famous 1984 BBC report on the famine in Ethiopia, through the huge success of Band Aid's charity single 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' and finally, to the two simultaneous Live Aid concerts held in London's Wembley Arena and Philadelphia's JFK Stadium on July 13th 1985.
'When Harvey Met Bob' is being produced by Great Meadow Productions for BBC Two and is expected to air on that channel as well as on RTE in the autumn.
The famous live aid concerts featured performances from such legendary artists as Madonna, U2, Queen, the Who, Phil Collins, Dire Straits, Paul McCartney and many more.
