With The Cranberries gearing up for a new album next month and tour this summer, the Limerick band have released the first track from the former.

'Something Else' is a collection of the band's old songs, reworked for orchestral arrangements with accompaniment by the Irish Chamber Orchestra.

The first cut from the record is arguably their best-known song 'Linger', while they have also made a brand new song, 'Why?' available to stream. The latter was written after Dolores O'Riordan's father passed away.

O'Riordan recently told Rolling Stone, of 'Linger': "The bittersweet love song still holds all that sentimentality for us personally, which is why we had to include it on this project, Universally, I think its message remains timeless and relevant, never going out of fashion, yet never quite in fashion. It's amazing to have a song hold up 25 years later, and I hope this acoustic version allows our fans to hear a Cranberries classic in a new way."
