Chicago rock band Smashing Pumpkins have released another new song from their forthcoming album.

Lead singer Billy Corgan surprised fans earlier this year by announcing that the band would release two albums in quick succession this year and next, with 'Monuments to an Elegy' out next month and 'Day for Night' to follow next year.

You can hear a preview of album track 'Tiberius' below, which follows on from last week's leak of 'One and All'.

As for whether the band will continue indefinitely after both releases - well, that's still up for debate. Corgan and guitarist Jeff Schroeder are the only remaining members and the former has said that he has no desire to continue to play unless he is releasing new material.

"To go back under the Smashing Pumpkins name engendered a lot of people expecting us to be nothing more than a reunion band, playing its greatest hits, and with a fan base not particularly keen to listen to the new music," he said. "What I try to tell people that get caught up in the reunion kind of concepts – like where are the original members and stuff like this – the band was founded on an idea that it must be progressive and it must always be moving forward."
