The nominations for this year's Ivor Novello awards have been announced, with Lily Allen and Dizzee Rascal leading the field with two nominations a piece.
Lily's song 'The Fear' is nominated as 'Best Song' and 'Most Performed Work' at the prestigious songwriting awards, while Dizzee has bagged nominations for 'Best Contemporary Song' for 'Bonkers' and the 'Album Award' for 'Tongue In Cheek'.
Dizzee will be up against our own Duckworth Lewis Method, who are also nominated in the album category for their self-titled cricket themed album, which was also nominated for the Choice Music Prize earlier this year. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for Neil Hannon and Thomas Walsh, and hope that they come out ahead of Dizzee, as well as Paolo Nutini, whose hugely popular album 'Sunny Side Up' is also nominated.
Meanwhile, Girls Aloud, Bat For Lashes, La Roux and James Morrison have also picked up nominations in various categories. The award ceremony is set to take place at London's Grosvenor House on May 20th. The full list of nominations is below:
