She may be one of the coolest pop musicians of her generation, but like many others, Lily Allen had her teenybopper phase.

In fact, it seems that the Londoner was a particular fan of an Irish boyband i.e. Boyzone, and revealed to fans on Twitter that the only poster she ever had on her bedroom wall was of Stephen Gately "because i was in love with him."

When she was asked by a fan to name "the best Boyzone song", she named the band's first UK single, 'Love Me for a Reason'.

It's not known what inspired the disclosure of her pop past, but it has got people reminiscing about their own teen idols on Twitter.

Gately, of course, sadly died in 2009 at the age of 33. Boyzone split for good after their 25th anniversary tour in 2019, and Shane Lynch revealed last month how he was "quitting showbiz for good."

Allen, meanwhile, has dabbled in acting in recent years and is currently starring in Martin McDonagh's 'The Pillowman' in the West End. Her last album was 2018's 'No Shame'.
