Kila, Liam O Maonlai and Discovery Gospel Choir are among the Irish acts to play at a special charity concert for Gaza this October.
Other Irish acts set to appear include Lumiere, Naisrin and Zahara El Safty while Palestinian singer Shadia Mansour and renowned political activist Iraqi/English Rapper MC Lowkey will also show their support for the cause by performing on the night.
Meanwhile, filmmaker Dearbhla Glynn (Dust Devils, Dambé – The Mali Project), will screen some of her footage from he most recent trip to Gaza, which reveals the remaining devastation nine months on from the January attacks.
The Dublin to Gaza concert will be broadcast directly from Tripod to an audience in Gaza City on Friday October 16th. According to the press release, ' The evening will celebrate culture and use the power of music to unite people both in Ireland and in the besieged city of Gaza. The organizers hope to focus attention on the ongoing siege in Gaza and also raise much needed funds for the rebuilding of the infrastructure of Gaza.'
Tickets are priced €15 with all profits going towards the rebuilding of Gaza.
