Lady Gaga has blamed problems and delays associated with her latest release ARTPOP on people around her who, she alleges, have "mismanaged" and "betrayed" her.

Writing on her Little Monsters website, Gaga explained why there has been a delay to the release of her new music video 'Do What You Want'.

"It is late because, just like the 'Applause' video unfortunately, I was given a week to plan and execute it", said Gaga. "Those who have betrayed me gravely mismanaged my time and health and left me on my own to damage control any problems that ensued as a result. Millions of dollars are not enough for some people. They want billions. Then they need trillions. I was not enough for some people. They wanted more."

Suitably vague comments, we're sure you'll agree. This period of Gaga's career, her third album and the ensuing tour, has been beset by rumours and allegations. We reported recently on the rumours that her label Interscope were so disappointed with the sales for ARTPOP that they were forced into several staff lay-offs to compensate for lost revenue.

Less than a year ago too, Gaga was forced to undergo hip surgery which led to numerous live dates being cancelled.

"Unfortunately after my surgery I was too sick, too tired, and too sad to control the damage on my own", continued Lady Gaga in the blog post. "My label [Interscope] was not aware that this was going on. The next few months of ARTPOP will truly be its beginning. Because those who did not care about ARTPOP's success are now gone. I never thought after all these years of hard work that those I called friends and partners would ever care so little at a time I needed them the most."

ARTPOP topped the charts in numerous markets upon its release but has sold significantly less than her 2008 debut The Fame and 2011's Born This Way.
