Kraftwerk have announced a gig in Ireland this September.
The legendary German electro/krautrock/synthpop pioneers will play the A Day In the Life festival at the Luggala Estate in Co. Wicklow - the venue that Morrissey was originally rumoured to have been playing earlier this summer.
The band will play a 5,000 capacity open-air venue, reports On the Record, and tickets are €89.50 and on sale tomorrow (Wednesday, July 16th) at 9am from usual outlets.
[UPDATE: Tickets will now not go on sale until FRIDAY, JULY 18TH at 9am.]
Other details have emerged about the festival, which the official press release calls 'the greenest festival of the year'. There will be chillout areas, organic food stalls and tribal workshops spread across the estate, and doors for the festival will open at 3pm. It's not yet known who will support Kraftwerk.
Oh, and the best thing of all - ticket price includes transport from Dublin city centre, or a Park & Ride facility from Leopardstown Racecourse - there will be NO car parking available at the site.
[UPDATE #2: Joining Kraftwerk on the bill will be Soulwax, Comtron, Boxcutter, The Jimmy Cake, Dark Room Notes and D1 DJs.]
